Milwaukee Transportation News for 2018-19

HOPE Christian Schools has fielded many concerns from parents this year regarding bus service for our scholars. It is important that our scholars have a safe, positive experience to and from school, and so we are considering changes that will improve the bus experience. Below are the important facts about transportation for the 2018-19 school year.

1. Our bus routes are an hour or less.

These changes will allow us to decrease the amount of time scholars are on buses.

2. We have staggered the start and end times for all of our campuses.

This allows parents to select a HOPE location that is close to home and has start-and-end times that work for you.

3. We have created a geography-based transportation plan that works for the majority of our families, as follows.

Scholars who live south of I-94…
  • will only have transportation to the HOPE Prima campus.
Scholars who live south of North Avenue…
  • will have transportation to HOPE Semper, HOPE Fortis, or HOPE Prima.
  • will not have transportation to HOPE Caritas and HOPE Fidelis.
Scholars who live north of Good Hope Road…
  • will have transportation to HOPE Caritas and HOPE Fidelis.
  • will not have transportation to HOPE Fortis, HOPE Semper, or HOPE Prima

Families impacted by these changes are welcome to contact us to discuss your transportation and enrollment options. We are committed to helping families make any necessary transitions.

4. For the safety of our scholars, the current parameters based on the eldest enrolled scholar in a family remain in place for drop-offs:

K4 and K5 scholars…will be dropped at their door.
Grades 1-4 scholars…may be dropped within one block of their door
Grades 5-8 scholars…may be dropped within two blocks of their door.

Communication and cooperation with parents is extremely important to us. Please note that these plans may change pending final contract negotiations with our transportation provider. We will notify parents of any changes as soon as possible, and our final transportation plan, as well as start-and-end times, will be posted on our website on this page.
