HOPE Christian Schools has fielded many concerns from parents this year regarding bus service for our scholars. It is important that our scholars have a safe, positive experience to and from school, and so we are considering changes that will improve the bus experience. Below are the important facts about transportation for the 2018-19 school year.
1. Our bus routes are an hour or less.
These changes will allow us to decrease the amount of time scholars are on buses.
2. We have staggered the start and end times for all of our campuses.
This allows parents to select a HOPE location that is close to home and has start-and-end times that work for you.
School | Start-and-end times | Extra Support |
HOPE Fortis 3601 N. Port Washington Avenue | Start at 7:30 a.m. and school will dismiss at 2:10 p.m. | After-school care will be available if it is important to your family. |
HOPE Fidelis 4200 W. Douglas Avenue | Start at 7:30 a.m. and school will dismiss at 2:10 p.m. | After-school care will be available if it is important to your family. |
HOPE Prima 2345 N. 25th Street | 9:00 a.m. and dismiss at 3:40 p.m. | Before- and after-school care will be available if it is important to your family. |
HOPE Semper 3040 W. Capitol Drive | 9:00 a.m. and dismiss at 3:40 p.m. | Before- and after-school care will be available if it is important to your family. |
HOPE Caritas 8920 W. Brown Deer Road | 9:00 a.m. and dismiss at 3:40 p.m. | Before- and after-school care will be available if it is important to your family. |
3. We have created a geography-based transportation plan that works for the majority of our families, as follows.
Scholars who live south of I-94… |
|
Scholars who live south of North Avenue… |
|
Scholars who live north of Good Hope Road… |
|
Families impacted by these changes are welcome to contact us to discuss your transportation and enrollment options. We are committed to helping families make any necessary transitions.
4. For the safety of our scholars, the current parameters based on the eldest enrolled scholar in a family remain in place for drop-offs:
K4 and K5 scholars… | will be dropped at their door. |
Grades 1-4 scholars… | may be dropped within one block of their door |
Grades 5-8 scholars… | may be dropped within two blocks of their door. |
Communication and cooperation with parents is extremely important to us. Please note that these plans may change pending final contract negotiations with our transportation provider. We will notify parents of any changes as soon as possible, and our final transportation plan, as well as start-and-end times, will be posted on our website on this page.
