HOPE is a network of Christian schools in Milwaukee and Racine, Wisconsin. Our mission is to deliver the 3 Cs - Christ. College. Character. ® - to the children, families, and communities we are privileged to serve. Nearly 3,000 scholars are enrolled in our six (and soon to be seven) K-8 schools and one high school. We offer the world-class academics and character formation scholars need to become inspirations to their families and leaders in their communities.
HOPE participates in both the Milwaukee Parental Choice Program and the Racine Parental Choice Program (commonly known as “school choice”). Through these programs, a HOPE education is tuition-free for qualifying families. Many parents already have educational options because their income allows them to pay for private schools of their choice. School choice gives low-income families the same opportunity. HOPE is privileged to serve these families and to be a part of Milwaukee’s nationwide leadership in school choice.
What sets HOPE apart?
The 3 Cs: We share the unconditional love of Christ with our scholars and support them in developing a deepening relationship with their Savior. College is talked about from early grades on, so that scholars envision themselves as lifelong learners. Character formation is critical to academic excellence, because it forms the internal motivation for good decision making and a fulfilling life for Greater Purpose beyond the classroom.
Academic growth: At HOPE, our emphasis is on helping children reach their full potential. We use NWEA MAP testing data to drive and adjust our academic instruction throughout the year. These assessments help teachers understand the amount of learning growth a child makes in a given period of time, and progress can be celebrated. According to our NWEA MAP data, our K-8 schools are growing scholars faster in reading and math than the average school nationally. In addition, our high school scholars demonstrate commitment to and readiness for college. For six consecutive years, 100 percent of HOPE High School seniors have been accepted to college.
“HOPE has taught me responsibility, accountability, grit, hard work, respect, love, trust, friendship, compassion, and – most of all – how to grow in Christ.”
– Adrian Reed, Class of 2014, HOPE Christian High School, Milwaukee, Wis.
Learning that lasts: We combine rigorous academics with a character formation journey for scholars and their teachers. This journey cultivates a strong sense of Identity (I am a child of God in Christ!), Purpose (How can I best serve God and others?) and Performance (How am I growing in my Identity and Purpose in light of Christian virtues?) HOPE scholars form the internally motivated character that is necessary to make good decisions both inside and outside the classroom.
Strong school culture: Our schools create that special blend of high expectations with a nurturing Christian environment. HOPE has been recognized as one of the top schools in the country for its strong culture in the book On Purpose: How Great School Cultures Form Strong Character by Samuel Casey Carter.
“HOPE Christian Schools has a great staff that really cares and loves the students. It’s a Christ-centered environment with proven results.”
– LaChanda Owens, Parent
The value of a network: Our staff and scholars benefit from our network of experienced educators who share and learn from one another while incorporating individual strengths. We provide a sustainable career path full of opportunities for our staff, enabling them to reach their full potential while helping scholars reach theirs.
The staff and supporters of HOPE Christian Schools are driven by a strong sense of purpose: To make world-class academics, lasting character formation and the opportunity for faith formation accessible and affordable for all. At HOPE, this is expressed as Christ. College. Character.
The results are transformational for our scholars, for families and for our community. Read or watch some of our stories.
